A BIT OF HISTORY IN RADIO Fort Greely Newspaper, Alaska 1959 One soldier at Fort Greely can be particularly proud of his 11-year-old daughter. Miss Forshia Dianne Partridge, daughter of Sp5 Alver Partridge, has just received her Amateur Radio Operator's license from the Federal Communications Commission. The young Miss passed her test in radio theory and the International Morse Code with flying colors, her examiner reports. "I could never have made it without the kind and patient help of Ed" (Sp5 Edward Landry) Ann said. Miss Partridge has also built her own amateur radio transmitter (pictured). At the present time, Miss Partridge is studying for her general class license.
~Yep, that's me a long time ago! I was the youngest ham radio operator in the State of Alaska at that time. I remember receiving fan mail from all over the world and was featured in the CQ magazine, one of the most well-known magazines for radio operators. Though I did not keep up with the Ham Radio as I got older, I am amazed at how God brings everything in our life back around full circle. Never would I have known that my radio program out of Woonsocket, RI would go world wide. It goes to show you that God means what He says in Romans 8:28 that, "all things work together for good!" Let God use all of you in His plan for your life! And, Oh yes! See the craft kitty on top of my transmitter that I made? I loved crafts even then.~
